Lakeway's Fall Calendar: Events and City Park Design Feedback

October 1, 2026

Lakeway's next six weeks include scheduled events and the City Park design feedback process. The costume parade and studio tour have fixed dates; the park-design feedback phase reaches the end of its most active period during the same stretch.

What's Actually Running Right Now

Right now, through mid-October, the trails behind Lakeway City Hall are hosting 28 displays built for Hispanic Heritage Month, covering the history, culture, and customs of Hispanic communities. It's a walk you can do on a lunch break or a Saturday morning, and it disappears once the month closes out.

Here's how the rest of the stretch lines up:

Date What Where
Now through mid-October Hispanic Heritage Month trail exhibit, 28 displays Trails behind Lakeway City Hall
Sunday, Oct. 4, 4 p.m. Masterpiece Concert featuring Andrew and Sari Pearce with guest performers Lakeway Activity Center
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 9:30 a.m. Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Lake Travis Recycle Center
Saturday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. Pumpkin decorating contest and swim Lakeway Swim Center
Saturday, Oct. 17, 6 p.m. Witches Ride costume parade, then carnival Lakeway Drive, ending at City Hall
First weekend of November ArtWALK studio tour Hamilton Greenbelt, Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden, various studios

Underneath all of it, the Lakeway Nights Farmers Market keeps its regular Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m. slot at Lohmans Crossing, unaffected by any of the above.

City Park Design Feedback

The city's engineering and design phase for Lakeway City Park renovations is underway right now, and it's the one item on this list that actually needs something from residents besides showing up. City Park is one of five projects funded by the 2024 Parks Bond, and the current design phase includes a proposed skate park and bike skills park. The city is asking for resident feedback while the design is still being shaped, not after it's finalized.

The feedback window runs concurrently with the events on this calendar. Residents who want to weigh in on what City Park becomes can share their views while the design is still being shaped.

The Activity Center Keeps Coming Back

Look at where things are happening and a pattern shows up. The Oct. 4 Masterpiece Concert lands at the Lakeway Activity Center. ArtWALK's closing performance, in the format the event has followed in recent years, also lands at the Activity Center, on the Sunday of its first-weekend-of-November run. Two separate events, organized by two different committees, routing through the same building.

That's not a coincidence so much as a function of scale. The Activity Center is Lakeway's default room for anything that needs seating, a stage, and enough space for a crowd that doesn't fit in a gallery or a park pavilion. If you're new to the rotation of Lakeway's arts programming, that building is the one to know. It shows up again and again.

One Saturday, Three Stops

October 17 is doing more work than a single listing suggests. It opens at 9 a.m. at the Lakeway Swim Center, where residents can decorate a pumpkin and take a dip before the day gets busier. It closes out that evening with the Witches Ride, a costume parade that starts at 6 p.m. and moves down Lakeway Drive, with candy along the route for anyone walking or watching from the curb. The parade route ends at Lakeway City Hall, where a carnival picks up right where the parade leaves off.

Three stops, one Saturday, no need to choose between them if you plan the day around the gap between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. rather than treating them as separate outings on separate weekends.

The Weekend That Turns Into a Studio Tour

ArtWALK, organized by the Lakeway Arts Committee, runs its first weekend of November. In the format the event has followed in prior years, Friday opens with a happy hour at Adams Galleries and a free performance at TexARTS. Saturday is the main event: more than 20 artists open their studios and set up in Hamilton Greenbelt and the Hurst Creek Sculpture Garden, alongside a student exhibit at the Lakeway City Hall Art Gallery. The weekend has typically closed with a Sunday afternoon concert back at the Activity Center.

It's the one entry on this calendar that turns a walk you might already take, through the greenbelt or past the sculpture garden, into something with a schedule attached. The route doesn't change. What's happening along it for one weekend does.

Two Signals Underneath the Calendar

A couple of smaller items round out the picture of what's shifting in Lakeway this year, separate from the event calendar but part of the same texture.

In March 2026, the Texas Film Commission designated Lakeway a Film Friendly Certified Community. It's a state-level classification, not an event, but it signals the kind of production interest that sometimes shows up as closed streets or crews setting up in a park you weren't expecting to see them in.

On the retail side, Crunch Fitness announced in December 2025 that it would bring a 42,000-square-foot, $5 million Crunch 3.0 facility to 2300 Lohmans Spur Road, the former Chair King site next to Tuesday Morning, with a summer 2026 opening target. If you've driven past that stretch of Lohmans Spur and noticed construction, that's what's been going in.

Events and City Park Feedback

None of these six weeks are unusual on their own. Lakeway runs a trail exhibit most falls, a costume parade most Octobers, and a studio tour most Novembers. What's specific to this year is that the City Park design feedback tied to the 2024 Parks Bond reaches the end of its most active phase during the same stretch as the fall events. The events have dates and locations, and residents can share input on the park design while it is being shaped.

If you're walking the trail behind City Hall this week, or you're planning which Saturday works for ArtWALK, that's also the week to say something about what City Park becomes next.

We're the Ruth & Evonne Team, and we live in this part of the Hill Country too. If you want to talk through what's changing around Lakeway, whether it's the park bond, the new gym on Lohmans Spur, or just figuring out your October 17 schedule, reach out. We're happy to compare notes.
