Bee Cave's October Runs Through One Address

October 8, 2026

A shaded luxury home's rear terrace with limestone paving, dark-framed glass doors, two outdoor chairs, and a sculptural mountain laurel.

"Come in costume, walk down Hill Country Blvd to grab your fair share of sweets and check out the classic car show." That line comes from the City of Bee Cave's own page for this year's Trunk or Treat. Few cities would point families to a shopping center street for their official Halloween event. In Bee Cave the choice follows from where the city keeps its offices.

The Address Explains the Calendar

The city places Bee Cave City Hall at 4000 Galleria Parkway. The Bee Cave Public Library gives that same address. The Galleria's Central Plaza at 12700 Hill Country Blvd. has a public pavilion that stays open during regular hours, and the plaza hosts more than 200 events a year.

The arrangement goes back a long way. In 2016, Community Impact described the green in front of City Hall as the Galleria's town-center area and noted that the plaza could adapt to civic uses. The city still schedules programs that way. Its free summer musical takes place on the lawn behind City Hall.

People new to the area often mix up two places. Bee Cave Central Park is a separate city park at 13676 Bee Cave Parkway. When an October flyer says "Central Plaza," it means the Galleria, not the park.

Oktoberfest has two published start times

The Galleria's official listing says Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 7 p.m. Community Impact's Oct. 2 roundup of fall events lists 2 to 6 p.m. on the Central Plaza lawn. The host's own page is the one to plan around. If you're showing up for the costume contest, a quick check that afternoon is cheap insurance.

The Galleria's listing includes live music and oompah tunes, Oktoberfest food from The League Kitchen + Tavern, imported beers and local lagers, face painting, balloon art, yard games, a stein-holding contest, and a dirndl and lederhosen costume contest with a YETI cooler as the prize.

The arts festival is the plaza's biggest free day

The Galleria's current event listing puts Contracommon's sixth annual Common Ground Arts Festival on the Central Plaza on Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The organizers list more than 30 creative vendors, four live music acts and free hands-on activities for all ages. Attendance is free. The festival is set up to support emerging artists and makers from Central Texas.

Sunday the 25th Puts Kids and Collector Cars on One Street

The last Sunday of the month is the clearest example of the town square at work. The city's Trunk or Treat, sponsored by Target, runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The city's page describes it as happening "in conjunction with" the Rolling Sculpture Car Show, with families walking Hill Country Boulevard for candy among the show cars.

The car show starts at the same hour and runs until 3 p.m. It brings collector cars, sports cars and exotics, modern classics, hot rods and art cars onto the Galleria's streets, with live music and awards from the show sponsors. Show-car parking opens at 10 a.m. that morning. The event goes on rain or shine, spectators get in free, and all proceeds go to the Bee Cave Public Library.

So a library event takes place a short walk from the library's own front door. The trick-or-treat window closes two hours before the car show does. A family that arrives at 10 can finish the candy route by 1 and still have time to look at the cars or get lunch at one of the Galleria restaurants.

The One Event the City Moves Off the Plaza

The Haunted Trail is the exception, and the city explains why. On Oct. 22 and 23, from 7 to 9 p.m., the trail behind Chick-fil-A at 3600 Ranch Road 620 becomes a series of scary scenes. The city recommends it for teens and adults because it is "extra spooky," and it invites guests to come in costume.

Parking works differently from the Galleria events. The city asks guests to park at Home Depot and walk down to the start of the trail behind Chick-fil-A. Hill Country Indoor sponsors the event, and the city is recruiting volunteers age 18 and older. The family-friendly Halloween events stay on the plaza. The one meant to frighten moves to the woods off RM 620.

What's Different on the Plaza This Fall

If you haven't spent an afternoon at the Galleria lately, a few things have changed since last October.

  • Splash pad. A banner on the Galleria's website currently shows the splash pad as temporarily closed. The Central Plaza and guest services pages still list daily hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and no page gives a reason for the closure or a reopening date.
  • Sicara Shop + Design Studio opened in early May at 12820 Hill Country Blvd., Ste. E-120, with home decor, furniture and design services.
  • Charles Schwab opened July 12 next to Einstein Bagels. The branch took over the former Schmidt Family Barbecue site at 12532 RM 2244.
  • Solis Mammography is on the way to 12700 Hill Country Blvd., Ste. S-120. Construction started in June, and no opening date has been announced.

The splash pad matters most for families with young children who are planning a warm October afternoon around the plaza. Until the banner comes down, it's safer to plan on the pavilion and lawn.

After Halloween, the Rink Takes Over Behind City Hall

The plaza's calendar doesn't stop when October ends. Bee Cave on Ice returns to the space behind City Hall at 4000 Galleria Parkway from Nov. 13, 2026, through Jan. 18, 2027.

Regular hours: Monday–Thursday 3–9 p.m. · Friday noon–10 p.m. · Saturday and school holidays 10 a.m.–10 p.m. · Sunday 10 a.m.–7 p.m. Last session starts one hour before close.

Pricing: $16 plus tax for 50 minutes, skate rental included. Community Night Tuesdays are $11 plus tax on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, 8 and 15, and Jan. 12.

The rink page lists Lake Travis ISD school holidays as Nov. 23–27 and Dec. 18 through Jan. 5, and the longer Saturday hours apply on those days. The same page also carries some labels left over from last season, so check the city's holiday hours before planning a Thanksgiving week skate.

Follow the calendar from the Oct. 10 race to the January close of the rink and the pattern holds. A 5K, a beer garden, an arts festival, a candy walk, a car show that raises money for the library, and a seasonal rink all take place within a few steps of City Hall. Only the Haunted Trail is held somewhere else.

At the Ruth & Evonne Team, we keep track of how Bee Cave's civic calendar and its streets fit together because that rhythm shapes daily life on the west side. If you're wondering how a home near the Galleria, or farther out along RM 620 and Highway 71, would fit the way your household spends its weekends, we'd be glad to talk it through.
